Our chapter is committed to excellence: Excellence in academics, athletics, and creative events and also among our peers at GMU. We seek the highest ideal of womanhood, and we try to gain this ideal by cultivating not only the power and passion for seeking intellectual development but, also, the spirit of love and charity. We have won awards in philanthropy, athletics, scholarship and academics. We are also very proud to announce that we have won the Greek Organization of the Year award, all sports award and GMU’s prestigious Greek Week award 15 out of 18 years!

Alpha Phi also has a campus-presence unlike any other organization, we are involved with Mason Ambassadors, Peer Advisors, Student Government, Order of Omega, LEADscholars, Alternative Spring Break, Leadershape, Student Senate, and the list goes on!

This year, we won the community service award for Fraternity and Sorority Life AND the University-wide Community Service Award for our involvement in various community service and philanthropy endeavors. We take pride in our dedication to giving back to the community whether it is walking for a cause, supporting other organizations philanthropic endeavors, or giving time to community projects.

We have an amazing leadership council and last year our president, Jen Schnizler, won the President of the Year award from student activities! And our current president, Lisa Lustig was awarded the University's top leadership award in 2006 -  the Peter  C. Forame Student Leadership Scholarship. These women lend their amazing abilities to continuing a legacy of Alpha Phi commitment to excellence!

Alpha Phi is committed to academic achievement and in 2006, we had the highest new member GPA among sororities and the most women on the Dean's list of any Greek organization!  Our sisters support scholastic achievement and challenge one another through group study sessions, study buddies and a scholarship award program.

Other than our physical accomplishments and awards, our chapter thrives on our sisterhood.  Our sisterhood soars above any other chapter in the world.  We love participating in events, supporting other Greek Organizations, helping the George Mason community and simply having memorable time with our sisters.  If you are looking for a close group of girls, you will not have to look any further than the Eta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi.

Alpha Phi is a big advocate of increasing the presence of Greek Life at George Mason University.  We encourage you to include yourself within the wonderful GMU Greek Life and experience everything that has helped shape each one of our sisters differently.  If you are looking for an outlet for your creativity, athleticism, scholarship or originality – try Greek Life, we did!
